8. Exploring Christmas with Five Senses in Chinese
Looking for a Christmas activity that blends science and Chinese learning?
Kids learn to describe Christmas traditions in Chinese by using their senses: what they see 看到 (kàn dào), hear 听到 (tīng dào), smell 闻到 (wén dào), taste 尝到 (cháng dào), and touch 摸到 (mō dào). Through hands-on and movement-based activities, children can touch decorations, listen to holiday sounds, smell festive treats, and talk about their experiences in Chinese.
This sensory approach helps expand vocabulary while making language learning playful, memorable, and connected to real life. It’s a wonderful way to bring science, movement, and Chinese together during the holiday season!

You can bring this learning to life by using toys or Christmas decorations in your classroom to show each preposition.
